What We Do - New Look's Specializes in Seamless Gutters and Gutter Covers

Why Seamless Gutters?

Seamless gutters provide a better system to manage the flow of rainwater on buildings and homes and can be made with a variety of different materials and in an assortment of colors. New Look's Renovations specializes in aluminum seamless gutters.

Traditional rain gutter systems are made by joining lots of sections together by means of joints. Which incidentally creates their biggest problems. Over time the joints in traditional gutters are fatigued and strained caused by temperature fluctuation and weather which breaks them down and wears them out. This can cause all sorts of problems not only with the gutter system itself but the siding and landscaping around a structure by allowing rain water to drip and run. Seamless gutters solves this problem by eliminating seamed joints altogether.

Investing in seamless rain gutters is a higher up front cost over traditional seamed gutters; however the quality and longevity of them for your home or building should be considered a wise investment - giving you greater peace of mind.

Leaves and other debris can cause gutter clogs in any gutter system. Clogs can lead to other problems and gutter system failure. Seamless gutters with leaf guards can insure you'll never have to deal with clogged gutters again; in-turn preventing gutter system failures.

Spray Foam Insulation

Spray foam insulation in most cases provides immediate benefits

Easy Application that Creates a Solid Barrier

When done correctly using the right equipment and pre-job preparation, spray foam insulation can be applied relatively easy and fast. As spray foam is applied it begins to expand filling in hard to reach and irregular spaces in seconds in building and homes. Spray foam material is extremely dense unlike other insulators it doesn't allow space between fibers creating a reliable barrier preventing air leaks. In addition to slowing the air temperature transfer rate between your home and the outside elements, it also prevents pollens, dust, rodent and pests from invading, plus it can act as a noise barrier reducing sounds from the outside world significantly.

Save on Energy Costs Instantly

When using spray foam insulation to insulate your home or building your preventing air leakage. During winter months you spend less money on heating costs requiring less energy to stay warm. During the summer months your air conditioning system will run less often and can be the temperature inside can be maintained at a lower power setting without sacrificing comfort. Your not only saving money on utility bills; your also increasing the longevity of your heating and cooling systems as they are working less, On top of that you'll likely see a substantial reduction in maintenance costs and repairs to those systems.

Strength You Can Depend On

Spray foam material has a highly resilient chemical make-up; unlike other forms of insulation, spray foam doesn't break down from water, moisture, mold or mildew damage. It also acts to deter small rodents and pests because it can't be used as a food source or nesting.

Insulation That Is Eco-Friendly

Spray foam is considered a green/environmentally friendly material. The material spray foam is made from is rapidly renewable and has very low impact to global warming generating a "Low (GWP) Global Warming Potential;" in all providing comfort with a reduced carbon footprint year round.

Siding, Fascia and Soffit Installation and Repair

Whether it's something all new or repairing to match your existing siding; including trim, fascia and soffit New Look's Renovations is ready to get started.

Replacing your old damaged siding with new premium vinyl siding is one of the best ways to improve the look of your home or building and the value of your property. It's low-maintenance easy to maintain and it won't rot or fall victim to insect damage like termites, bees, wasps, stink bugs and beetles; all the while adding another layer of insulation and security. The color which is infused when created won't chip, flake or peel; vinyl comes in an endless array of colors, textures and styles making it easy to find an option that perfectly suits you home or building.

Overtime, especially with wood siding, soffits and fascia - these areas face wear and tear from the elements. Cracks form, colors fade and pieces even detach or break off because of poor maintenance and extreme weather like we have in Upstate New York. Left unchecked these damages can lead to more expensive repairs like interior wall and/or foundation damage.

New Look's can match your existing or change the color and texture for a whole "new look" all together.

Insulation Installation

Having your home or business properly insulated is paramount to efficient energy use year round; especially when you live in areas with such diverse and extreme weather changes like Upstate and Central New York. Insulation is probably the most practical and cost-effective way to increase energy efficiency. Whether it's new construction or re-insulating your home or business New Look's is ready to roll for any of your insulation needs.

Exactly what is insulation?

Specifically, insulation is any types of materials used to fill in spaces; between walls, little gaps, crevices, hard to reach places, above ceilings and in floors; to reduce heat flow reflectively and absorption.

There are several varieties of insulation applications
  • Thermal Insulation
  • Soundproofing Insulation
  • Electrical Insulation

In regards to homes and businesses, it's thermal insulation that increases energy efficiency along with overall interior comfort. Thermal insulation can be defined as materials that reduces and slows the transfer of heat and cold by providing barriers between spaces that are significantly different in temperature. Additionally, many forms of insulation like fiberglass and cellulose provide added soundproofing between the outside and inside, which also includes between rooms in the same building or home.

Insulation works by slowing the the heat and cold transfer between spaces

Heat naturally flows from warmer areas to cooler ones. When it's cold and during winter months heat moves from inside to unheated spaces and outdoors. When it's hot and summer months heat moves from the warm outside to inside where it is cooler. Insulation increases energy efficiency by reducing the amount of heat that escapes in the winter and the amount of heat that enters from outside in the summer by a process called conductivity.

Properly installed insulation that maximizes or slows conductivity results in a consistent and uniform temperature from room to room increasing comfort levels. This will also increase your home or buildings energy efficiency lowering your heating and cooling bills.

The Different Types of Thermal Insulation:
  • Fiberglass Insulation:

One of the most widely used insulators as it can be applied in batt-rolls as a blanketing system or blown-in in a shredded or pellet form.
  • Cellulose Insulation:

Probably the most environmentally friendly types of insulation available; made up of 80% recycled material and the rest sourced from nature as a renewable material (wood and plant fibers). Cellulose is blown-in and as such is also ideal for sound proofing.
  • Spray Foam

Ideal for many applications especially where small gaps, cracks, crevices exist in order to air-seal. Spray foam when layered also increases R-value and can be used as a moisture blocking agent in roof rafters and on cement basement or garage walls before additional insulation techniques are applied.
  • Radiant Barrier Insulation

Often used in attics and overhead spaces right under the roof and on the outside walls behind siding as it drastically helps reflect, rather than absorb heat from the sun. Reflecting radiant heat helps conductive insulation techniques maintain even thermal properties across an area year round as well as helps to mitigate ice damming (which can cause other damages) on roof edges in the winter by eliminating hot spots.
  • Rigid Foam Insulation

Great for creating a barrier both on the inside and outside of homes and buildings, available in foam panels ranging in different thicknesses. Rigid foam and board can be cut to any desired size making it ideal for new construction, exterior wrapping and sub-diving attic and overhead spaces. Some rigid foam board even comes with a reflective radiant barrier adhered to one side and is often used on the exterior of a structure when new siding is being installed adding an additional layer of insulation plus radiant heat blocking between the existing outer wall and the new siding.
  • Rockwool or Mineral Wool Insulation

Made from rocks and minerals spun into small, high-temperature resistant fibers (one of the most fire resistant types of insulation). Rockwool has a lot of benefits over other types of insulation; higher heat retention, better R-value per layered inch and less likely to be subdued by molds, fungus and moisture and doesn't lose its thermal efficiency overtime thanks to the manufacturing process involved. Typically rockwool is a bit more expensive when compared to other insulating materials, however it is easily justified as it adds more benefits over fiberglass and cellulose. Rockwool is also available in a form which can be blown-in.
  • Icynene Insulation

Typically used between floor joists and around wiring, piping and duct work by sealing. As a specialized spray foam it is ideal for maximizing energy efficiency by isolating what it is applied to keeping any heat or cold transfer to a minimum between the surface it has been applied to and other surfaces and insulations. Water can run through Icynene so it's not really useful as a sealer but makes a great insulator while it allows you to see where any leaks or moisture is coming from unlike typical spray foam insulation making it easier to find problems to repair should they arise in the future.
